ROSE COTTAGE

Through the original entrance door is a warm and welcoming salon. The floor and walls have been painstakingly refurbished and the addition of carefully selected furnishings provide a relaxing space. The addition of a wood burner ensures the gite can be enjoyed all year round.

The front of the bread oven has been  restored and retains its place behind the small spiral staircase leading to the bedroom. The addition of a light in the remaining original chimney provides this part of the salon with the focus these features deserve.

What began as a small and dark workshop area has been transformed into a light and well appointed modern kitchen. The addition of a breakfast bar allows guests to enjoy something to eat in the comfort of the gite. 

The removal of the bread oven allowed for a modern shower room to be installed. We restored a small part of the curved stone wall to provide a unique feature and retain to a piece of the original craftsmanship.

At the top of the spiral staircase, in a previously dark storage space, is the beautifully appointed bedroom. The large window to the front provides  views over the fields and this, combined with the wood and stone, provide a luxurious and romantic space.  

To assist with natural light, and to provide a sense of space, we installed a gallery between the bedroom and the kitchen. Not only did this achieve its designed purpose it also provides another lovely, and slightly more original, feature within the gite. 

The gite has its own parking space and a south facing garden which enjoys the sunshine throughout the afternoon. A decked terrace provides a serene spot to relax and enjoy an aperitif or dine alfresco.

The views of open fields and rolling hills are truly beautiful. In the evening, from the decked terrace, you can enjoy one the of beautiful sunsets and for those who like an early morning, enjoy a sunrise over the mountains to the west.
